As a child, she was already mesmerised by colours and patterns. Later, at university, Maryam Nassir Zadeh was inspired by Miuccia Prada, David Hockney, Eva Hesse and Jean Arp. Not the least of these. She studied textiles at the renowned Rhode Island School of Design, has been running her own boutique in New York since 2008 and is seen as a fascinating pivot within the fashion world.
Maryam Nassir Zadeh
Her own label Maryam Nassir Zadeh (launched in 2015) is, according to many, difficult to express in words. Her collections are vibrant, artful and charming. And sometimes a little strange.
Sandals
The MNZ sandals are based on vintage shoes and have an eccentric elegance. Zadeh draws her inspiration from shapes from the past, as well as from old photographs of her mother and grandmother. With streamlined shapes in unique (often spicy) colours and materials, she knows how to create extraordinary sandals. In fact, the Maryam Nassir Zadeh brand is the perfect fusion of art and fashion. We like.
