If there’s anyone who knows a thing or two about cashmere, it’s, without a doubt, Saskia Dijkstra. Having worked with big names, such as Agnès B, Jil Sander, and Massimo Dutti, it’s no surprise that this cashmere veteran has started her own label. Together with Camille Serra, (who has worked with Martin Margiela and Joseph), the ladies set themselves the goal of creating the most beautiful and elegant cashmere jumper imaginable, without any concessions. And ideally do it exactly the way they wanted, without conforming to the rules of the market. Quite a challenge, not to mention a risk, but thanks to the ladies’ expertise and use of only the highest quality cashmere, they didn’t have to stop at just one jumper. The original concept quickly expanded into a season-independent collection: Extreme Cashmere was born. The luxurious collection consists of cashmere jumpers, cardigans, scarves and skirts, available in a limited range of colors.
It’s almost impossible to imagine just how extremely soft this Mongolian cashmere really is. Whether it’s mixed with some stretch or not, Extreme Cashmere creates timeless, classic items, ranging from super snug to oversized. Also good to know; the brand works with factories in inner Mongolia, producing their exclusive items ‘off season’. “There’s no rush with our collections. This is not about following fashion, but creating a piece of lasting beauty”, explains Dijkstra. “This way, the local population has a job year-round.”
