They immediately had a connection as colleagues, and their styles similarly display a high degree of harmony. Alizé van Strydonck and Ysaline Grangé are a duo of dedicated dreamers with over ten years of experience in the fashion world as well as self-declared soulmates. Unsurprisingly, the decision to jointly start a label was an easy one. Nor did they have to look far for the name, for Âme means soul in French.
Since 2018, the Belgian brand has been located in a workshop in Antwerp, where they create beautiful designs replete with thoughtful details and crafted from soft and luxurious fabrics such as wool, cashmere, cotton, and viscose. The collection is primarily comprised of unassuming, timeless looks that are effortlessly combined.
The fits are feminine and comfortable. Only items the designers would want to wear on a daily basis, be it at the office or during the weekend, make the cut. The palette is muted verging on minimalist, for outside the occasional seasonal tone, the colours white, ecru, grey, and black preponderate. The two friends look for inspiration wherever they can find it: streets, magazines, and Instagram. Teamwork is key. Vivres les âmes soeurs!
